errant ideas MEGATRHEAD

i end up having a lot of ideas that i like enough to say out loud but have no idea how to do more with. this is a thread for everyone to share such ideas!

one i had today is a mario kart style racing game with historical tanks. i think that would be very funny

an idea i keep fantasizing about but never write much down about is an oceans eleven style "assembling the gang for a heist" movie but its a guy going around collecting staff for his magnum opus (animated) movie, or maybe video game.

im sure everyones got some errant ideas... please share and feel free to comment on other people's ideas! if an idea gains a lot of traction in this thread, maybe give it its own thread

heres an old one i have written down, a person gets cursed to be weighed down with a giant iron ball for the rest of their life, and is like "well, if im stuck with this i might as well use it" and then uses it as a weapon to fight with

i think this idea stemmed from the spelunky route where you use the iron ball to break blocks you normally couldnt so you can get the eggplant to the final boss with only one player

guy who can go into superposition where hes in two places at once
if one of them gets hit the superposition collapses so that he wasnt hit
but if either one lands a hit the superposition collapses so that he landed the hit
so u have to constantly dodge two guys and either hit both simultaneously or in rapid succession
photon style kung fu
the idea of [elementary particle] style kung fu is pretty ripe for expansion into a bunch of guys too

i think that could also work for the playable character, having double the hitting power but you also have to keep track of two hitboxes. i think that would be interesting

also yeah i think your idea about thhe karate styles would be really fun and interesting :]

setting where all living beings can gain exp and slimes are the result of mono-cellular life gaining a lot of xp

creature made of invisible ink that passively creates illusions of rorschach test ink blots on nearby surfaces as a sign of its presence.
like actual invisible ink it can only be visible under UV light, and is VERY sensitive to it.
probably centipede-like in appearance/anatomy?

if you want a third deblob game... deblob 2 for nintendo ds is canonically between deblob 1 and 2 and its actually a pretty fun 2d take on the game

enemies spawn, attack, and move based on the music. your attacks also depend on the music. timing your manual attacks to the music also grants combo that gives various buffs.

it sorta sounds like the battle system of mother 3 but in a more action based environment, i think that'd be rad as hell :] trying to find an opening for you to time your inputs without something else interrupting you, and hitting a sick combo,,, yeah i think thatd be really fun

yeah it's kinda sick.
i actually just thought of a basic plot premise for it: all the playable characters are former musicians that have fallen upon hard times after being scammed out of the rights to their music by an EVIL 10 THOUSAND YEAR OLD PRODUCER-LICH.
the first playable character has a spark of inspiration and starts getting his groove back, causing the Lich to sic his ARMY OF THE UNDEAF on him. and that's basically where the game starts.
